Meet The Founder
For me, it’s the connections at pop-ups and the creativity. I love the conversations my designs start, and I love that I get to keep creating and learning through this business.
The hardest part is being the whole team at once: designer, marketer, accountant, social media manager. With so much going on, it’s easy for things to be missed and feel overwhelmed.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is not to put myself on the back burner. I prioritized my business so much that my health, sleep, family, and self-care suffered, and I’m still working to change that today.
My first backpacking trip is where I got the inspiration to start For My Homegirls. Before that trip, I couldn’t find designs that reflected me or my identity to wear out on the trail. While I was out there, I kept getting ideas. I started writing and sketching them, and they became my very first designs.
I love anything outdoors, listening to podcasts, trying new things, and spending time with my family.
