What do you love most about having your own business?
The best part is owning our business is....doing it TOGETHER, as sisters! We share the same values and mission because that’s how we were raised—family, giving back, and representation have always been important to us. Chica Beauty is more than just makeup, it’s about creating something meaningful together that empowers women and reflects who we are.
What is the biggest challenge to having your own business?
The hardest part is that it’s just the two of us running the show. We handle everything from product development to marketing to shipping orders. It can be overwhelming, but at the same time, it’s pushed us to grow, stay resourceful, and never give up on what we believe in.
What is the biggest life and/or business lesson you've learned while running your own business?
We’ve learned that resilience is everything—and so is community. Running a business comes with a lot of ups and downs, but staying true to our mission while leaning on mentors, friends, and other women entrepreneurs has helped us keep going. You don’t have to do it all alone.
Who or what was your biggest inspiration in your business life and why?
Our mom has always been our biggest inspiration. She raised us to be independent, strong, and compassionate, and she taught us that giving back is just as important as working hard. She showed us that women can do anything—and we carry that with us every day at Chica Beauty.
Outside of being an entrepreneur, what else do you do in your free time or enjoy as a hobby?
When we’re not working on Chica Beauty, we LOVE spending time with our families. For us, that means cheering on our kids at their activities, hosting family dinners and celebrating birthdays! We also love traveling, and discovering new places and getting inspiration for future products. And of course, we’re big fans of "Girls night"!!! We love having fun, laughing, music, dancing and lots of storytelling!
